In a campus classroom, there may be a mailbox for dropping off assignments to your instructor or your instructor may have a designed spot on the desk to drop off assignments as you walk into the room. In the online classroom, you will also need to ‘drop off’ assignments using the student folders. For each online course, you will have a student folder of your own that provides a private transfer of documents between you and your instructor.
The student folder is a holding spot – a temporary storage area – for documents. These documents are not created in the folder. You create a file outside of the online classroom (for example, Microsoft Word or PowerPoint) and save this file on your disk. When you are ready to submit it to your instructor, you visit the online classroom’s student folder and upload the file to the folder. When files are attached to an assignment in Educator, the file is electronic placed in your student folder. Inside your student folder, you also have the ability to upload files, remove files, and make subfolders. |
