In order to learn more about each other, your instructor may have you setup your own home page. This feature provides an opportunity to post information about yourself that is available to your instructor and your classmates. The same will be available for you to learn about the others in your class. Think of it like those first-day class introductions.
The Home Page feature is found in the Course Roster area that lists the members of the course. A sublink provides the page for creating your own and another provides a list of home pages available for classmates. There are two ways to create your home page - using an existing website and using a file in your classroom. Using an existing website You may already have information on the web about yourself. You may link to this page using the home page feature. Simply type the address into the textbox provided. Using a file in your classroom You may create a page of information in an HTML editor or in Microsoft Word (saving as the file as a webpage) and upload this file to your student folder. Once it is in your student folder, the Home Page feature will list the file as an option to make it your Home Page. With the Home Pages sublink, a list of classmates with home pages is shown. Clicking on the student’s name will access the home page. |
